Shepherd’s Men is inviting the community to join its march from Canton to Woodstock May 27, Memorial Day, to honor those who have died serving their country.
The march, which will span 12 miles, will include carrying a 160-pound barrel to symbolize the weight of sacrifice to honor those who have lost their lives in service to the nation.
WOODSTOCK, Ga. – As the nation paused to remember those who had paid the ultimate sacrifice, one organization was also raising awareness about those who struggle once they come home.
Dozens of active and veteran military personnel and civilian volunteers marched 12 miles through challenging weather Monday.
“What we want to do is make sure they understand you’re not alone, if you’re struggling, there’s a community out there who would love nothing more than to lift you up,” said Travis Ellis, co-founder of Shepherd’s Men.
The organization raises money for the SHARE military initiative at Shepherd Center, which helps those with PTSD, traumatic brain injuries, and other unseen injuries of war.
The 2024 Craft Brewers Fest was one for the books! Thursday, February 22nd is our last opportunity for the Georgia Senate Regulated Industries and Utilities Committee to vote on Senate Bill 163, “The F.O.A.M. Act.” SB 163 would give small breweries desperately needed flexibility by allowing them to self-distribute a limited amount of product locally to retailers and raise the daily “to-go” sales cap.
