Summer in Georgia has its own rhythm. It smells like honeysuckle, sounds like cicadas, and tastes like a porch swing and a glass of something ice-cold. That’s exactly the vibe we’ve bottled with our Vodka Lemonade Series—a collection of softly carbonated, low-ABV cocktails made with real fruit, fresh tea, and Reformation Vodka.

If you’re searching for a light and refreshing drink to get you through the heat (without knocking you off your feet), you’re in the right place. Let’s dive into your most-asked questions about these ready-to-drink favorites—plus what makes our new Honeysuckle Green Tea Vodka Lemonade so special.

What is Reformation Brewery’s Vodka Lemonade Series?

It’s our spin on a Southern classic: tea, lemonade, and vodka—but done with real ingredients, gentle bubbles, and a modern craft twist.

Each flavor in the series is made with Reformation Vodka, real brewed tea, ripe fruit purée, and natural citrus. At 4.5% ABV, they’re light enough to sip all day, but still full of flavor.

Available in cans or on draft at our taprooms, these cocktails are an easy, portable option for patios, parks, poolsides—or just your front porch.

This new release combines:

All three come in at 4.5% ABV, making them easy-going companions for hot days and good company.

These cocktails shine with classic Southern picnic fare. Some favorites:

  • – Fried chicken and biscuits
  • – Watermelon & feta salad
  • – Shrimp and grits
  • – Deviled eggs

If you’ve ever scanned a beer menu and paused at “Kölsch,” you’re not alone. It’s a style that’s crisp, light, and incredibly easy to love—but still leaves a lot of people wondering: Is it an ale or a lager? Where did it come from? And how exactly do you say it?

With our newest beer release, Give It Time, we’re diving into the world of Kölsch. Whether you’re totally new to the style or just curious about what makes it special, here’s everything you need to know.

What is Kölsch beer and how is it different from a lager?

Kölsch is one of those styles that doesn’t fit neatly into one box. It’s technically an ale, but it’s brewed in a way that borrows from both ale and lager traditions:

  • Fermented like an ale – using top-fermenting yeast
  • Conditioned like a lager – cold-aged for a clean, crisp finish

So what’s the difference from a classic lager? While lagers tend to be a bit more neutral or bready, Kölsch often has a slightly fruity aroma, delicate hop bitterness, and a soft malt presence. It’s like a hybrid—bright and refreshing with just enough complexity to keep you sipping.

What does Kölsch beer taste like?

Kölsch is known for being incredibly drinkable. It’s light in body and color but offers more flavor than your standard domestic light beer. Here’s what you can expect in a typical glass:

  • – Crisp and clean finish
  • Gentle malt sweetness (think honey or crackers)
  • Mild hop bitterness that balances things out
  • Subtle fruity esters from the ale yeast

With our Give It Time, we’re using Riverbend Chesapeake Pilsner as the base grain, bringing in notes of bread crumbs and honeysuckle, plus a noble hop blend of Saaz and Hersbrucker for a soft herbal touch.

What food goes best with Kölsch?

Kölsch is a versatile pairing beer. Its clean profile and mild bitterness make it a great match for all kinds of dishes:

  • Grilled bratwurst or sausages
  • Roast chicken or pork
  • Mild cheeses like Havarti or Swiss
  • Seafood—especially white fish or shrimp
  • Salads with citrus vinaigrette
  • Soft pretzels (because why not?)

At Reformation, we love it with anything salty, savory, or slightly smoky (BBQ? Queenies? Owens & Hull? *wink* *wink*). Kölsch doesn’t overpower—it complements.

How do you pronounce Kölsch and what does the word mean?

It’s pronounced “k’oolsh” (rhymes with “bullsh” but nicer). The word “Kölsch” refers to something that’s from Cologne (Köln), Germany—which is the only place in the world where a beer can legally be called Kölsch under German law.

It’s a style with centuries of tradition and regional pride. While we’re not in Cologne, we honor that spirit by giving it the patience and care it deserves—hence the name, Give It Time.

Ready to try a Kölsch for yourself?

Our newest beer release, Give It Time, is our tribute to the Kölsch style: crisp, balanced, and full of subtle character. At 4.8% ABV, it’s the perfect companion for long afternoons, rooftop hangs, and backyard cheers.

We brewed this one with purpose—and just like the name suggests, it’s worth slowing down for.

👉 Find it now on draft and in package at Reformation Woodstock, Smyrna, & Canton.

Or come chat with us in person, ask questions, and let your curiosity (and your pint) run free.

Reformation has always been more than a brewery — it’s a gathering place. From the very beginning, our founders envisioned a space where families could come together, connect with neighbors, and share moments that matter. As our taprooms continue to grow and welcome more families, it’s important we take a moment to reflect on what it truly means to be “family-friendly.”

Below, a note from our CEO, Spencer, on why that vision still matters — and how we can all help ensure Reformation remains a safe, welcoming, and joyful space for everyone.

“When Reformation started nearly 12 years ago, the debate around being a family-friendly venue was robust. I was adamant that it had to be for us to live out our values and vision. Few things have given me more joy as CEO than seeing families with kids away from their screens, enjoying our spaces together, bonding with each other, their neighbors, and their community. One great unintended consequence is that kids are some of the best “coolers” in the business, helping keep our community-centric vibe here in the burbs.

As we’ve established ourselves in our community over the last decade, we’re honored that families feel very comfortable having their children at Reformation. With that comfort comes the imperative that we keep the experience safe and enjoyable for all. Our venues are built well, but they’re not indestructible. The majority of our crew and customers are patient and kind, but they’re not responsible for parenting or babysitting children. That is the responsibility of parents and guardians. So we are updating our family-friendly policy and ask for the support of our community to help maintain the experience we’ve all come to know and love at Reformation.

We love you, we love your kids, and we simply want to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for all. Hold your drinks close, and your kids closer. Thank you!” – Spencer, CEO

Is agave spirit the same thing as tequila?

Not exactly — but they’re close.

Both tequila and agave spirit come from the agave plant, but tequila is a specific type of agave spirit made under strict rules. Think of tequila like Champagne: it’s a protected term tied to geography and method. Agave spirit, on the other hand, is a broader category that gives distillers more creative freedom.

What’s the difference between tequila and agave spirit?
The biggest differences come down to where it’s made and how it’s regulated:

  • Tequila must be made in specific regions of Mexico (mainly Jalisco) using at least 51% Blue Weber agave.
  • Agave spirit can be made anywhere, with any variety of agave, and without the same legal constraints.

Agave spirits often offer more variety in flavor because distillers aren’t bound by the same rules as tequila producers.

Why can’t tequila be made outside of Mexico?
Because “Tequila” is a protected designation of origin (PDO) — just like Champagne or Parmigiano-Reggiano.

Mexico owns the rights to the name, and only spirits made in approved regions and following strict guidelines can legally carry the tequila label.

If it’s made outside of Mexico (even from the same agave plant), it’s not tequila — it’s agave spirit.

Is agave spirit used in margaritas too, or just tequila?

Absolutely.

While tequila is traditional, agave spirit makes a fantastic margarita — often with even more character and depth.

At Reformation, we use our house-made agave spirit in our new Skinny Margarita, and it’s a hit for folks looking for something bright, balanced, and a little lighter.

How is a traditional margarita different from a skinny one?
The key difference is in the ingredients — and the calories.

  • – A traditional margarita usually includes tequila, orange liqueur (like triple sec or Cointreau), lime juice, and often a sugar-heavy sour mix.
  • – A skinny margarita skips the liqueur and sugary mixes. It sticks to fresh lime juice, a little simple syrup or agave nectar, and spirit.

The result? A cleaner taste, fewer calories, and less sugar — without losing the refreshing citrusy punch.

Is a skinny margarita actually healthier, or just hype?
It depends on your definition of healthy — but for many, yes.

  • Lower sugar
  • Fewer artificial ingredients

Our Skinny Margarita at Reformation is low in sugar, high in flavor, and 10% ABV, making it a great option if you want something lighter but still bold.

Curious to taste the difference yourself?

Come try our Ready-to-Drink Skinny Margarita, made with fresh lime, house agave spirit, a touch of orange, and just enough sweetness to keep it balanced.
At 10% ABV, it’s no slouch — and it might just become your go-to summer sip.

Have more questions about agave, margaritas, or how we make our house spirits? Stop by the taproom or shoot us a message. We’re always happy to chat (and pour you a glass). 🍹

If you’ve heard whispers around the taproom about Reformation’s new single barrel bourbon release and found yourself wondering what makes it different—you’re not alone. Bourbon terms can get confusing fast, especially when words like single barrel or small batch start flying around.

Let’s break it down together. Whether you’re a seasoned bourbon fan or just bourbon-curious, this guide will help you understand what single barrel bourbon really means—and why our new 6-year release is worth a spot on your shelf.

What does single barrel bourbon mean?

Single barrel bourbon means exactly what it sounds like: each bottle comes from one specific barrel—no blending, no mixing, just pure character from that one cask.

  • – Every barrel has its own flavor fingerprint
  • – No two single barrel releases are exactly alike
  • – Often bottled and labeled with barrel-specific info

Think of it like a one-of-a-kind pour that reflects the personality of the barrel it came from.

How is single barrel bourbon different from small batch or regular bourbon?

Here’s a quick cheat sheet:

  • Regular bourbon: Blended from hundreds of barrels for a consistent flavor
  • Small batch bourbon: Blended from fewer barrels (usually 10–50), still aiming for consistency with more depth
  • Single barrel bourbon: Pulled from one barrel only, making each release unique and more limited

Our new 6-year single barrel bourbon brings that individuality to life—unlike last year’s non-single barrel version, this one shines with unique nuance from batch to batch.

Is single barrel bourbon better than other types?

“Better” is subjective—but single barrel bourbons do offer something special:

  • – More character and complexity
  • – Unique experience in every bottle
  • – Often higher quality control (since barrels are hand-selected)

That said, if you want consistency bottle-to-bottle, small batch might be your thing. If you’re into discovering something new with every sip? Single barrel’s where it’s at.

Why does single barrel bourbon cost more?

Single barrel bourbons tend to be more expensive because:

  • – Each barrel yields a limited number of bottles
  • – More time and care go into selection and bottling
  • – You’re getting a one-off product, not a mass blend

Reformation’s 6-Year Single Barrel Bourbon is just $54.99 — the same price as last year’s 6-year release, but now elevated as a handcrafted, limited-edition single barrel. Priced for its rarity, made for those who appreciate the craft.

Does single barrel bourbon taste different from bottle to bottle?

Yes—and that’s what makes it fun.

Each barrel:

  • – Ages differently depending on its location in the rickhouse
  • – Picks up slightly different flavors from the wood
  • – Reacts uniquely to temperature and humidity

You might notice one bottle leaning more into dark cherry and oak, while another brings more spice and vanilla. That’s the magic.

What should I look for when buying single barrel bourbon?

Here are some tips:

  • Age statement: Older isn’t always better, but 6+ years tends to mean more depth
  • Mash bill: Ours includes 21% rye and 4% specialty malt for spice and character
  • Flavor notes: Look for tasting profiles that match your style—ours includes brown sugar, smooth oak, vanilla, and a hint of cherry
  • Proof: Reformation’s current single barrel release is 100 proof—strong, but not overpowering

Are single barrel bourbons worth the money?

If you’re into craft spirits and appreciate nuance, they absolutely are.

  • – Perfect for sipping neat or on the rocks
  • – Great conversation starter or gift
  • – Limited releases make them feel special

And with free tastings and knowledgeable folks behind the bar, you can try before you buy at Reformation.

Why do bourbon fans care so much about single barrel picks?

Because they’re personal.

  • – No two are the same
  • – It feels like finding a hidden gem
  • – Some fans even chase bottles from specific barrels or stores

It’s a bit like vinyl records—part flavor, part experience, part story.

This past Memorial Day, our community came together in a powerful way—step by step, pint by pint.

We were honored to partner with Shepherd’s Men to host the Clarity Lager Tribute March, beginning in Canton and ending at our Woodstock location. Along the route, Shepherd’s Men carried a barrel of Clarity Lager—a symbol of the weight and sacrifice carried by those who’ve given everything in service to our country.

When the marchers arrived in Woodstock, the celebration began. The Milvet community smoked a whole pig and grilled up burgers and hotdogs—served with love, and free while supplies lasted. Wildfryz kept things crispy with their fan-favorite fries, and the stage came alive with performances from Lance Farlow and Russ Gordon, filling the air with music and meaning.

All day long, Clarity Lager flowed on tap, with $1 from every pint or pack supporting Shepherd’s Men and their life-saving mission to serve our nation’s veterans.

We’re beyond grateful for the turnout, the spirit, and the support. This day reminded us what it means to honor the past by showing up in the present—with heart, community, and purpose.
