Declare Your Love for Game Night

Tuesday, February 14 at 6:30pm

Join us for an evening of tabletop games and analog competition each month as we gather for Game Night at the brewery. Organizer and host Josh Weekly gives us the lowdown on “Love Letter,” our featured game for February.

\

Tell us about the game you’re featuring this month.

Love Letter is a deceivingly simple social deduction/hidden role game that is great as a filler game or even as a game to play over and over for hours. Your goal? Deliver your love letter to Princess Annette’s hands while preventing other players from doing the same.

What’s your favorite part of the game, and why?

I think what makes Love Letter great is it’s very streamlined. The entire game can fit right in your pocket, you can teach the rules in under five minutes, it can be played in under fifteen minutes, and it’s inexpensive.

What can you tell us about the makers of this game?

Alderac Entertainment Group (AEG) is a well known and established game publisher. Having created collectible card games and RPGs that are considered classics they have also seen great success in recent years with the ‘shufflebuilding’ game ‘Smash Up!’ where you literally smash up two zany factions and compete to destroy bases.

Have they created something you’ve played (and loved) in the past?

Smash Up! can swing quite drastically (which can be a turnoff) but it’s hard to deny how fun it is to take your Ninja Pirates up against Alien Dinosaurs or Werewolf Sharks.

Is there anything else you’d like to mention?

If you are looking for a unique Valentine’s Day experience to share with your significant other (or your whole family) you should definitely consider February’s Game Night. Stop by and create some great memories trying to get your love letter to the princess!

How can people connect with and/or give feedback?

If you are interested in connecting with other craft beer loving analogs gamers, we have a great inclusive community gathered at the Reformation Gaming Group on Facebook. I’d recommend joining. We are always looking for feedback and ways we can improve Game Night. If you’d like to share your ideas and thoughts you can email me joshua.weekly {at} gmail {dot} com.

Game Night host Josh Weekly points to analog games as his favorite way to unplug from the digital world and connect with friends, family, and strangers. Just as often as you’ll find him rolling dice and moving meeples, you also find him enjoying the breathtaking landscape of North Georgia on foot or by mountain bike.
